Countertops Materials
There are hundreds of potential countertop materials available, from natural stones like marble and grante to engineered options like quartz and solid surfaces, offering a vast array of colors, patterns, and performance characteristics.
Generally, countertops are divided into two categories:
Natural Stone most common are Marble, Granite, Quartzite, Soapstone, Onyx and Travertine
Engineered Stone and Composites most common are quartz, porcelain, sintered stone, engineered marble, solid surface and glass
Natural countertops are quarried from the earth, while engineered countertops are manufactured by combining natural aggregates (like quartz or stone) with resins and pigments. In addition to the style and appearance differences among the types of countertop, key differences between natural and engineered are: Natural Stone is unique and often more heat-resistant, but is porous and needs sealing. Engineered Stone produces more uniform looks, is non-porous, and highly durable.
We offer literally hundreds of countertop materials and styles. Below are samples of popular countertops organized by material type.
